Heads Continue to Roll in Oil Town
Long time Oilers Equipment manager Barry Stafford, Ken Lowe, and Lyle Kulchisky have all been shown the door by the Oilers. Barry’s been “runnin’ the gear” for 29 seasons, but will step aside along with the others as the rebuild will stop at nothing, short of Joey Moss, to ensure this team is revamped and ready to turn the corner. Since the end of the season General Manager Steve Tambellini has been busy doing his best Donald Trump, canning assistant GM/VP of Hockey Ops Kevin Prendergast last week as well.
“There is absolutely no question Kenny, Barrie and Sparky have done a remarkable job here over the past three decades and more”.
Those were the words of Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini as he commented on yesterday’s news that Barrie Stafford, Ken Lowe and Lyle ‘Sparky’ Kulchisky were leaving their long-time posts in the Oilers dressing room.
He continued. “Our fans know what we all know. These three guys have been terrific contributors to this franchise through thick and thin. I use the words great people to describe all three, and that’s exactly what they are and all three will continue to contribute to the Oilers.
